European commission
| The European Commission is the executive and politically independent organ of the European Union. It is now composed of 27 members (Commissioners), one from each member state. Under the policies, the Commission has an exclusive right of initiative (right it shares with member states in the field of foreign policy, security and defense). It is also entrusted with the implementation of legislative acts (by delegation of the Council), as well as performance and management of certain policies, such as the European Social Fund. |
